Foraging Friends,
Is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. founded in 2023. We Envision being a match maker between the land, plants, and people, particularly in communities inherently affected by neglect, blight, and economic disinvestment. We are committed and focused on ethical foraging, public awareness, and collaboration with nonprofits working to establish Food autonomy and sovereignty in Pennsylvania. We believe that healing land supports healing communities, and knowledge empowers, responsible action.
Dawn Zohovetz
An enthusiastic forager since the organization’s earliest days, she is a certified holistic health director specializing in adult wellness coaching, peer support, and foraging education. Through her outreach, she promotes whole-person wellness and pet-inclusive foraging practices in communities she serves.

An urban environmentalist and devoted homeschooling mother, she brings a deep passion for nature-based learning, youth engagement, and community development. Her perspective helps inspire programs that connect young people and families with the natural world.

She leads educational foraging and nature-based programs, drawing on her extensive experience foraging throughout central Pennsylvania. Passionate about ethical harvesting, she teaches others how to responsibly forage, prepare, and preserve delicious, nutrient-dense foods from the land.
